Watch Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol 

in IMAX!

When a terrorist bombing destroys the Kremlin, the United States government initiates a black ops "ghost protocol" and disavows the entire Impossible Mission Force. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his team are to be blamed for the attack, but are allowed to escape as part of a plan to enable them to operate in the dark outside of their agency. However, Hunt is warned that if any member of his team is captured during their mission, they will be charged as terrorists planning to incite global nuclear war. Ethan is then forced to work with ex-IMF agent Brandt, who knows more about Hunt and his past than even Hunt himself.

Start your holiday season off right by winning a FREE turkey at Downtown Hampton on Ice! at the Virginia Air & Space Center. Visitors will have the chance to take home a FREE turkey by participating in our 2^nd Annual Turkey Bowl, Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Participants will use a turkey to bowl on the ice in hopes of knocking down the ten Coca-Cola bottles at the end of the rink. Guests must knock down all bottles to win a turkey, for those who don’t, other great prizes will be awarded.

The holidays are here and the Virginia Air & Space Center is just the place to be! Returning for its sixth year, Downtown Hampton on Ice! is a great way for families to enjoy the season. Downtown Hampton on Ice! provides over 5,000 square feet of icy surface for public skating, special events, themed activities and more!  Skating is $7 per person and visitors are welcome to bring their own skates or rent skates for only $2 more. Located in the heart of Downtown Hampton on the waterfront, the outdoor ice-skating rink provides hours of fun for all ages.

            This season, Downtown Hampton on Ice! is full of activities for all. Throughout the month of December, Downtown Hampton on Ice! will offer 25 Days of Christmas that will include a variety of themed activities and with participation from local businesses some free goodies as well. Skaters can look forward to sweet treats, live music and prizes to be given away! Along with the 25 Days of Christmas, games and dance music will be played daily.

A Seasonal Skate Pass is available for skaters to enjoy the entire season of skating for one low price and a Winter Fun Pass offers visitors the chance to ice-skate, see a movie on the GIANT IMAX screen, the Virginia Air & Space Center exhibits and more! Downtown Hampton on Ice! can also be rented for private skating functions and birthday party packages are available. Science of Color: November 5, 2011 - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Can color affect our sense of taste? Can it cause or prevent an accident? How do animals see color? Can colors irritate your eyes? Learn some basic color theories, participate in a magic color breakdown experiment, make a rainbow spinner, and conduct a taste test!

Cosmic Kids are ages 6 to 10

Meetings are held one Saturday each month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
It is $10 per meeting per child

NASA Home School Appreciation Day at VASC

Today - 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Virginia Air & Space Center is hosting a contest for you to express your creativity for a chance to win a Flying Monsters 3D Prize Pack! The Prize Pack includes: a Flying Monsters 3D poster, t-shirt, CD-Rom version of National Geographic featuring articles from 1988 – today, a kite, your own stuffed Flying Monster and four IMAX tickets to see Flying Monsters 3D in IMAX! To enter, choose from the eight photos posted in the “Get Creative with Flying Monsters” photo album. Pick your favorite photo and get creative! Photoshop your favorite person into the photo, print out a Flying Monster image and take a photo of your own or something completely different! Post your entry on our Facebook Page to be added into the album for our fans to vote on their favorite creative idea.The contest ends October 28 and there are TWO Prize Packs to be given away!!!

Winners will be picked by the most amount of "Likes" on their photo.For those not interested in entering, help us out by liking on your favorite entry.  Good luck and have fun!

Last Saturday Summer Street Fest of the Summer!

Don’t miss the last Saturday Summer Street Fest of the season, Saturday, September 3, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. To end the summer, Saturday Summer Street Fest has nothing but the best to liven up the streets of Downtown Hampton! The spectacular entertainment includes music performed by former American Idol® contestant Felicia Barton and locals favorite Slapwater. The children’s area offers plenty of summer fun including unlimited rides, face painting and other activities for only $4 a ticket, presented by Calvary Assembly of God.

Felicia Barton –

 A Virginia Beach native, Felicia Barton has been performing from a very early age, starting from when she was just two years old. She was a contestant on the eighth season of American Idol® and was originally eliminated in the Top 50 round, but was reinstated as part of the Top 36 after a disqualification.

Slapwater –

Winner of the best local band award, Slapwater provides a musical variety from a soft dinner set to livelyRock 'n Roll, Motown, Beach, Disco, Oldies and all of your favorite dance music.
